I expatriated in mid 2010 and had to proportionally calculate my foreign earned credit between by the number of days in 2010 that I was still a US citizen. I recently received a bill for $25K from the IRS claiming that none of my foreign earned credit was valid for 2010. These guys are shameless thugs, the sooner the Federal government collapses the better.
